The price of gold increased a bit, following the increase in oil prices which led to investors hedging their investments in gold which acts as a safe haven in turbulent times. The price of American Eagle Gold was of USD $ 1494.35 an ounce on Wednesday, the 9th of March 2011, a slight increase from its previous day price of USD $ 1492.47 an ounce.
The price of silver fluctuated slightly. The market closed in with London Fixing, Spot Price of Sliver at £ 22.2859 an ounce, down from its price on Tuesday of £22.4853 an ounce.
